West Ham United secured a league double over Leicester City at the London Stadium on Sunday thanks to a brace from Jesse Lingard and second half strike from Jarrod Bowen. Fans and supporters were thrilled to see their Hammers heroes wearing t-shirts with the Hospice’s logo while training before Sunday's (11 April) Premier League match against Leicester City and during the pre-game warm-up at the London Stadium. While Covid-19 restrictions mean fans are currently unable to attend games in person, the club used its social media platforms and matchday programme to speak out about our care and support to the local community in east London and Essex, sharing the experience of a family who was cared for by the Hospice, and calling on fans to donate. “We are delighted to be working with West Ham United Football Club once again this season,” said Chris Williams, Head of Community Fundraising & Events at Richard House. “The partnership continues to go from strength to strength and we are delighted the club has been able to continue its support throughout the pandemic.” Lingard at the double as Hammers down Foxes Last Christmas, Goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski also joined the Hospice’s very first virtual thank you evening, praising our staff who’s been on the front line throughout the pandemic helping local children who are seriously ill. “Everybody at West Ham United is proud of the partnership we have with Richard House,” said Lukasz Fabianski. “The staff and volunteers do incredible work and they’ve had to deal with extremely challenging times over the last year.
