SGN Retail and Texaco fuel Richard House Children’s Hospice helping provide vital palliative care Whilst the world gets back to the 'new normal', life-limited children are their families at Richard House are still shielding. A new partnership with SGN retail, owner & operator of over 60 Petrol stations across the UK will enable Richard House to continue providing lifeline care to these seriously ill children. Each of SGN's garages have partnered with local hospices, including Texaco in Romford who are supporting Richard House directly through the Working with our Communities initiative. The partnership includes donations from the purchase of selected products including 1p per litre of fuel purchased, matched by SGN. All participating Rewards customers will therefore generate a 2p donation per litre to the local hospice. Customers also have the opportunity to spend their reward points or round up the cost of purchased items to make a donation to Richard House, all of which will also be generously matched by SGN. Futhermore, SGN have pledged to donate 50p for every sale of RBT hand Sanitiser, car or screen wash and Adblue. Paul Courtney Commercial Director of SGN said: "The work carried out by all the staff is so important for families in our communities. 2020 has been extremely challenging for each hospice who rely on donations and fund raising. We believe that working together will allow all partner hospices the opportunity to receive valuable financial help" Just £400 could fund a Play and Care Worker at Richard House for a weekend, allowing children who are staying in the residential unit or receiving Hospice at Home care to play and enjoy arts and crafts, vital for their development, social skills and symptom management. Senior Play and Care worker at Richard House, Sukaynah provides care to 18th month old Murshid through Hospice at Home, she said: "Murshid's older sisters enjoy talking about everyday things with me whilst I am there, and being there to care for Murshid also enables them to have their own time out as children, away from the responsibilities of helping to care for a sibling with life-limiting illness. The visits also enable Murshids mum and I to bounce ideas off one another to build his development" As Richard House celebrates it's 21st birthday this year amidst the pandemic, you can help fuel the hospice for another 21 years too https://www.richardhouse.org.uk/donate
