Richard House Children’s Hospice has six busy charity shops across Barking, Dagenham, Hornchurch and Upminster.  Our shops rely heavily on the distribution of goods.  We are looking for a volunteer Distribution Assistant to work with our volunteer Van Drivers, collecting and delivering small items of furniture and other items donated to the hospice shops.  During a shift you will travel in the hospice van between our shops, to companies, and to customers' and donors' homes throughout East London and parts of Essex.

What skills do we need?

No experience is required as full training will be given, but you do need to be physically capable of lifting and moving items of furniture.  Team work is essential and we are looking for people who are friendly, reliable and hardworking.

How much time will it take?

We ask for a minimum weekly commitment of one four-hour shift but if you are interested in multiple shifts, that would be great.

Location

Shifts start and end at Richard House Children’s Hospice, E16 3RG.

What are the benefits?

This is an opportunity to be part of a team as well as getting out and about in the local community and contributing to the work of Richard House.

Safeguarding

Richard House is committed to the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults.  Successful applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
